New in 2015 this BTEC Level 3 full-time course in Sport Development, Coaching & Fitness is based at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland. There is a particular emphasis on football - students benefit from 3 hours of coaching each week by Plymouth Argyle FC community coaches and take part in weekly futsal and 11-a-side fixtures. The charity Brain Tumour Research is dedicated to increasing funding for research, bringing more hope to brain tumour patients and those close to them. A short animated film created by the Collaboration for the Advancement of Medical Education Research and Assessment (CAMERA) research team at Plymouth University in collaboration with the Patients Association and Cumberland Surgery Patient Participation Group (PPG). The film is aimed at encouraging patient to take an active role in their healthcare by identifying various ways in which they can be involved including providing individual patient feedback or joining their PPG. The film draws on research conducted by CAMERA exploring Patient and Public involvement (PPI) in medical revalidation. Results show patients: find it difficult to disaggregate feeding back on individuals and feeding back on services; are concerned about the anonymity of patient feedback; are unclear about the difference...
Building Plymouth, a council-led partnership, arranged a site tour to our Derry's site in Plymouth City Centre. As part of the national 'Open Doors' Campaign delivered by Build UK in partnership with CITB, the Council led Building Plymouth partnership was offering a unique chance for local people to see ‘behind the scenes’ at eleven major live construction sites. Aiming to inspire young people, career changers and job seekers to join the industry, as well as engaging with local residents.

The beginnings of an exciting new urban woodland have been created within Plymouth. Over 150 trees and hedgerows have been planted by our environmental services team, children from the nearby Stuart Road Primary School and volunteers from the Plymouth Tree partnership. The ambitious project aims to transform a stretch of grassland that runs the length of the three blocks of flats at Wingfield Road.
